Corrections policy

When we get something wrong, we fix it in the story and note the change.

How we correct

• Factual errors in published stories are corrected in the live page as soon as we can verify the fix.
• Material updates use a dated line in the story body, for example: Updated Oct. 7, 2026: …
• We do not silently rewrite history for convenience. Clarifications that change a reader’s understanding get an Updated note.

How to request a correction

Email info@themittendaily.com with the story URL, what is wrong, and a source we can check. We read every serious correction request.

Photos and captions

Miscredited or wrongly labeled photos are corrected the same way. AI illustrations, when used, are labeled as such; licensed photographs are credited to the photographer and license.
