Detroit police seek a man they call armed and dangerous after a fatal shooting on Mack Avenue on the east side
DETROIT — Detroit police are asking the public for help finding a 30-year-old man they describe as armed and dangerous after a person was shot and killed early Saturday on Mack Avenue on the city’s east side.
Officers were called to the 15700 block of Mack Avenue at about 5:40 a.m. Oct. 17 and found a person dead, police told FOX 2 Detroit. Police have not released the victim’s name or gender, and they have not said what led to the shooting, CBS News Detroit reported.
After a short investigation, police said, they spotted a suspect on area security camera footage. They identified him as Isaiah Devon Bursey, 30, and said they are seeking him in possible connection with the killing. Police said Bursey should be considered armed and dangerous.
Neither report said Bursey had been arrested or charged as of Sunday afternoon. A person sought by police is presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
Anyone with information about the shooting or Bursey’s whereabouts is asked to call the Detroit Police Department’s Homicide Unit at 313-596-5260. Tips can be made anonymously through Crime Stoppers of Michigan at 1-800-SPEAK-UP (1-800-773-2587) or online at DetroitRewards.tv.
The Mitten Daily will update this story if police announce an arrest or release more details.
