NMU stages ‘The Rocky Horror Show’ Oct. 22–24 at Forest Roberts Theatre, with 10:30 p.m. shows Friday and Saturday
MARQUETTE, Mich. — Northern Michigan University’s theatre and dance program is bringing back “The Rocky Horror Show” for Halloween week, with five performances Thursday through Saturday, Oct. 22–24, at Forest Roberts Theatre on campus.
The stage musical, the source of the 1975 cult film, follows a newly engaged couple who take shelter from a storm at the mansion of the scientist Dr. Frank-N-Furter and meet his creation, Rocky. NMU describes it as a comedic spin on science fiction and horror films of the 1930s through the early 1960s.
Showtimes. 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 22; 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23; and 7:30 and 10:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 24. An opening-night party after Thursday’s show includes complimentary food and drinks and a chance to meet the cast and crew, the university said.
Tickets. $25 general admission; $22 for NMU staff, seniors and military; $15 for youth; and $5 for NMU students. Buy online through NMU’s ticketing site or at the NMU Ticket Office. Because the show is a fundraiser, flex passes and season tickets are not accepted.
Know before you go. NMU says the show is intended for mature audiences. Forest Roberts Theatre is at 1401 Presque Isle Ave.
