Stand U.P. Comedy Festival returns to Marquette Nov. 4–7: a free opening show Wednesday and Dave Landau headlining Saturday at Ore Dock Brewing
MARQUETTE — The Stand U.P. Comedy Festival opens its fifth year in Marquette on Wednesday, Nov. 4, with a free show, and runs through Saturday, Nov. 7, at Ore Dock Brewing Co. downtown.
This year’s festival puts 12 comedians on stage across six shows in four nights, co-founders Rick Rhoades and Bryan Sromalski told WLUC-TV6’s Upper Michigan Today. Each show pairs a headliner with a feature act, according to the festival’s schedule.
Rhoades, Sromalski and Vincent Schultz started the festival in 2022 to bring more live comedy to the Marquette area, WLUC reported. Organizers say they booked comedians from across the country.
Wednesday, Nov. 4, 7 p.m.: DJ Dangler headlines, with feature Ambur James. This is the free opening show.
Thursday, Nov. 5, 7 p.m.: Adam Degi headlines, with feature Sean Patrick Moore.
Friday, Nov. 6, 7 p.m.: Ella Horwedel headlines, with feature Andrew Yang. At 9:30 p.m., Dwight Simmons headlines, with feature Nicole Melnyk.
Saturday, Nov. 7, 7 p.m.: Brad Wenzel headlines, with feature Blain Hill. At 9:30 p.m., Dave Landau, the festival’s featured headliner, closes the week with feature Tom E. Thompson.
Ore Dock is the festival’s official venue, with house-brewed beer and seltzer on tap. The festival points to easy downtown parking and restaurants and lodging within walking distance. Tickets for the paid shows are sold through the festival’s website, standupcomedyfestival.com, which lists the full schedule; the Saturday late show has its own ticket page.
