Unbeaten Shrine Catholic plays Everest Collegiate for the Catholic League's Cardinal title at Ford Field
ROYAL OAK, Mich. — Shrine Catholic will take an unbeaten season to Ford Field on Saturday, Oct. 24, when the Knights play Clarkston Everest Collegiate for the Catholic High School League's Cardinal Championship.
Kickoff is 1:30 p.m. It is the first high school game of Prep Bowl LIV, the league's annual day of championships in downtown Detroit, which this year also marks the CHSL's 100th anniversary.
Shrine is 8-0 and 4-0 in league play, according to MaxPreps, and has outscored opponents 328-81. The Knights rolled through most of the schedule, including a 58-6 opener against Detroit Western International and a 56-13 win at Our Lady of the Lakes on Oct. 16. Their closest game was a 15-14 overtime win over Bishop Foley on Sept. 18.
Everest Collegiate comes in at 7-1.
The Cardinal game matches the champions of the league's two Intersectional divisions. At halftime the CHSL recognizes its Scholastic All-Catholic freshman class, and after the game it introduces the 2026 Football Honor Team.
Ford Field gates open at 7:15 a.m. for the full Prep Bowl day, which also includes two CYO championship games and two later showcase games. Ford Field enforces a clear-bag policy: clear bags up to 12 by 6 by 12 inches or one-gallon clear plastic freezer bags.
The MHSAA playoff field is announced Sunday, Oct. 25, with first-round games the following weekend.
