Traverse City Halloween 2026: Downtown Halloween Walk Oct. 31, mall trick-or-treating and the Spooktacular vendor show Oct. 23-25
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Families looking for a daytime, indoor-or-sidewalk Halloween in Traverse City have two main options on Saturday, Oct. 31, plus a craft show the weekend before.
Downtown Halloween Walk, Oct. 31. The Downtown Traverse City Association lists its Halloween Walk from 10 to 11:30 a.m. on Halloween morning, with participating downtown businesses handing out treats to costumed kids. The event calendar at downtowntc.com lists participating details; families should look for signs in shop windows.
Grand Traverse Mall trick-or-treating, Oct. 31. The mall at 3200 S. Airport Road West lists trick-or-treating for kids on Halloween, a weather-proof option if the lake-effect forecast turns raw. Check the mall’s events page for the hours before heading out.
Spooktacular craft and vendor show, Oct. 23-25. The weekend before, the mall hosts a three-day Spooktacular craft and vendor show, according to its events listing, a chance to pick up handmade decor and early holiday gifts.
Tips. Downtown parking fills quickly on Saturday mornings, so arrive early. Costumes with masks can limit a child’s view at crosswalks along busy Front and Union streets, so face paint is a safer bet.
More this week. The Mitten Daily has separate coverage of Traverse City’s other Halloween-season events, including Witches Night Out and the Grand Traverse Lighthouse ghost tours.
