Escanaba Halloween wrestling: Nightmare at the Chamber III, Oct. 31
ESCANABA, Mich. — Halloween falls on a Saturday this year, and in Escanaba that means costumes and body slams. UPW Pro Wrestling is bringing Nightmare at the Chamber III to the Delta County Chamber of Commerce on Oct. 31, with eight matches and a costume contest for families.
Doors open at 6 p.m., and the first bell is at 7 p.m. The show runs until about 10 p.m. at the chamber, 1001 N. Lincoln Road, according to the promoter’s listing and the Escanaba Daily Press. The event is open to all ages.
Tickets. General admission is $15, second row is $20 and front row is $25, the Daily Press reported. Tickets are sold online through UPW’s website and Eventbrite, where fees are added, and at the chamber the night of the show. Eventbrite lists refunds up to seven days before the event.
The costume contest. Fans are encouraged to come in costume, and the winner is announced at intermission. “It’s really focused on the little kids, but all ages participate. We had a great time last year,” UPW owner Lloyd Sarrel told TV6. “Our events are all about family fun, and what’s more fun than family Halloween and costumes.”
The card. Two championship matches top the show, Sarrel said. Marquette’s own Sampson defends the UPW Heavyweight Championship against TW3, who wrestled for Ohio Valley Wrestling and TNA before UPW, according to the Daily Press. Big Con, who has worked for NXT and TNA, defends the UPW American Championship against NWA talent All Day Marshay Rocket, Sarrel told TV6.
The promoter also lists MLW star Richard Holliday and J-Sin among the wrestlers on the show. A tag team match features The Collective, the group led by Sampson that includes Madman Fulton, one half of the UPW tag team champions, and former WWE performer Mike Mondo, the Daily Press reported. Cards can change before showtime.
Why Escanaba. This is the third UPW show in Escanaba this year, following the promotion’s show at this year’s U.P. State Fair, according to the Daily Press, and the third annual Nightmare at the Chamber.
Planning tips for families. With the show starting at 7 p.m., families can trick-or-treat first and still make the opening bell; check your city or township’s posted trick-or-treat hours. Kids in costume will want to arrive close to the 6 p.m. doors to get seats, since the contest is judged during the show. All times are Eastern.
