Bay City-area I-75: northbound lanes close between M-84 and Salzburg Road starting Oct. 18
BAY CITY, Mich. — Drivers heading north on I-75 toward Bay City will lose the right two lanes between M-84 and Salzburg Road starting Sunday, the Michigan Department of Transportation said.
MDOT said concrete repairs on that stretch south of Bay City begin Oct. 18 and are expected to wrap up Thursday, Oct. 22. The work is limited to northbound I-75; the department’s notice did not list overnight-only hours.
The corridor sits in Bay County just south of the city. MDOT’s notice names the work zone as northbound I-75 from M-84 to Salzburg Road.
MDOT’s Oct. 13 release listed James Lake, the north region media representative, as the contact for the project. The department did not publish a detour map with the notice, so motorists should watch for field signs as the lane drops begin.
Separately on the same release page, MDOT flagged other October work elsewhere in the state, including Portage Lake Lift Bridge repairs between Houghton and Hancock and I-75 Business Loop resurfacing in West Branch. Those jobs do not change the Bay City I-75 schedule.
