MARINE CITY, Mich. — Marine City took a 6-0 record and a 5-0 mark in the Macomb Area Conference Silver to St. Clair Shores on Friday night, Oct. 9, to play South Lake, which had not won a game this fall.

The Mariners led the division, according to MaxPreps, and have scored at least 42 points in each of their last five games. That run includes a 64-36 win at St. Clair on Sept. 25 and a 49-28 home win over Hazel Park last Friday.

Marine City has outscored its opponents 288-143. Its closest game was the opener, a 20-13 win at Richmond on Aug. 28.

South Lake is 0-6 overall and 0-3 in the league. The Cavaliers have scored 68 points and allowed 297, and they have been shut out in their last two games, 77-0 at home against Glenn and 55-0 at Clintondale.

The bigger test likely comes a week later. Algonac, 5-1 and second in its league, plays at Marine City on Oct. 16 in a nonleague game between the two St. Clair River towns. The Muskrats’ only loss was 40-0 to Madison on Sept. 11, and they have won three straight since, most recently 40-29 over New Haven. Algonac hosted Eastpointe that Friday.

Marine City closes the regular season Oct. 23 at Marysville, which was 3-3 and played at Lake Shore that Friday. Also that night, St. Clair, 4-2, hosted Warren Woods-Tower, a team Marine City beat 69-24 in September.

Updated Oct. 12, 2026: Marine City won 70-22 at South Lake, MaxPreps results show, and is 7-0 going into the Oct. 16 game with Algonac. The Muskrats beat Eastpointe 72-24 to reach 6-1, and St. Clair shut out Warren Woods-Tower 61-0. Records above are as of the week of the games.
