Mount Pleasant’s CMU men’s basketball opens Nov. 2 at Louisiana-Monroe, then hosts Alma Nov. 6 at McGuirk Arena
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Central Michigan’s men’s basketball team opens its season Monday, Nov. 2, at Louisiana-Monroe in the MAC-SBC Challenge, then plays its home opener Friday, Nov. 6, against Alma at McGuirk Arena, according to CMU Athletics.
The Chippewas host Youngstown State on Tuesday, Nov. 10, before a road stretch at Northern Kentucky, Dayton, Pittsburgh and Notre Dame in November. CMU also plays at Arkansas on Dec. 22.
A new league format. The Mid-American Conference moved to a 22-game, double round-robin schedule, so CMU plays all 11 league opponents home and away. “The double round robin league schedule has everyone coming to McGuirk Arena so fans can look forward to seeing every matchup,” coach Andy Bronkema said when the schedule was released.
Home highlights. CMU’s 15 home games include Ohio on Dec. 5, Toledo on Jan. 2, Western Michigan on Saturday, Jan. 23, Eastern Michigan on Feb. 9, and Ball State in the regular-season home finale on March 5, according to the schedule. The MAC Tournament is March 11-13 in Cleveland.
Tickets. Tipoff times and TV are set later and dates can change for television, CMU says. Season and single-game tickets are sold through CMU Athletics.
