About Mount Pleasant
Mount Pleasant is the Isabella County seat and the home of Central Michigan University, whose Chippewas play football at Kelly/Shorts Stadium. The Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, based on the Isabella Reservation, runs Soaring Eagle Casino & Resort and the Ziibiwing Center of Anishinabe Culture & Lifeways. The Chippewa River winds through town past Island Park and Mill Pond Park, and downtown Broadway Street mixes student hangouts with longtime local shops.
