BATTLE CREEK, Mich. — A regional barbershop singing convention and a family musical share the calendar here this weekend, giving visitors two indoor options a few blocks apart from downtown.

Barbershop at Kellogg Arena: The Pioneer District Barbershoppers Fall Convention runs Friday through Sunday, Oct. 16–18, at Kellogg Arena, 1 McCamly Square, according to the district and the arena. Admission is $20. The host hotel is the DoubleTree by Hilton Battle Creek, 50 Capital Ave. S.W. Parking in the ramp connected to the hotel and arena is free for attendees who have the stub authorized at the hotel desk, the district says.

The posted performance schedule includes Friday night quartet semi-finals at 7 p.m.; Saturday morning’s chorus show at 9:30 a.m.; Saturday afternoon quartet finals at 1:30 p.m.; and the QCA Show of Champions at 8 p.m. Saturday. Livestream links are listed on the district’s convention page. A SingFest warm-up was scheduled for 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 15, at New Holland BrewPub, 64 W. Michigan Ave.

Alice in Wonderland Jr.: What A Do Theatre’s run of the family musical began Thursday, Oct. 15, and continues through Oct. 18 at the Binda Performing Arts Center, 450 North Ave., according to the city’s small-business events listing. The remaining shows are at 7 p.m. Friday and 3 p.m. Saturday and Sunday. Tickets are $12 for adults and $10 for students. The company’s season page lists the dates and points visitors to whatadotheatre.org for updates; the phone number on the event listing is 269-300-8629.

Battle Creek News and Events also flags the Lakeview homecoming parade at 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. Friday in the Lakeview area for anyone already downtown for the barbershop night. Confirm the route with the school district if the weather turns.

Updated Oct. 16, 2026: Thursday’s SingFest warm-up and the musical’s opening night have passed, so those details are now in the past tense and the summary no longer says “tonight.” The convention and the remaining Alice shows are unchanged on the organizers’ listings.
