DETROIT — Families heading to Friday’s Detroit Public School League football championship games at Ford Field will have to buy tickets at the stadium: they cost $10 and are sold only at the Ford Field box office, the Detroit Public Schools Community District said Wednesday.

Four schools are playing, the district said: Cass Technical, Martin Luther King Jr., Central and Denby. Central (6-1) and Denby (5-2) meet for the Gold Division title at 4 p.m., and Cass Tech (7-0) and King (6-1) play for the Blue Division title at 7 p.m., MLive reported Friday. The district’s Oct. 14 notice did not list pairings or kickoff times.

Students enrolled at those four schools can attend without an adult, but they need a district-issued student ID to get in. A phone screenshot of a PowerSchool account won’t count, the district said.

Students from any other school must come with a parent or a responsible adult who is at least 21. Each adult can bring only one teenager, both need tickets, and the adult has to stay with the teen for the whole event. Drop-offs are not allowed, and unaccompanied teens will be turned away.

Children 2 and under get in free if they sit on a parent’s lap; everyone 3 and older needs a ticket. The district said stadium staff and security will remove anyone involved in group running, game disruptions or other unsanctioned behavior, and that students could also face school discipline.

Cass Tech comes in at 7-0. It beat King 20-7 on Sept. 25, handing the Crusaders their first loss, according to Michigan Prep Football results and earlier Mitten Daily coverage. The Technicians also beat King in each of the last two PSL Blue Division title games at Ford Field, 30-14 in 2024 and 35-19 in 2025, Sports Illustrated’s high school coverage reported.

Updated Oct. 16, 2026: Added the championship pairings and kickoff times, Central vs. Denby for the Gold Division title at 4 p.m. and Cass Tech vs. King for the Blue Division title at 7 p.m., as reported by MLive. The district’s notice had not listed them.
