HUDSONVILLE, Mich. — Hudsonville gets one last shot at the OK Red’s unbeaten leader Friday, Oct. 23, when the Eagles visit East Kentwood in a regular-season finale that will decide whether the Falcons win the conference alone.

Kickoff is 7 p.m. at East Kentwood’s Falcon Stadium, 6230 Kalamazoo Ave. SE in Kentwood, according to both schools’ athletics calendars.

The stakes. East Kentwood is 6-0 in the OK Red and 8-0 overall, by the results posted on the conference’s West Michigan OK Sports site. Hudsonville and Caledonia are each 5-1 in the league. A Falcons win clinches the title outright. A Hudsonville win would leave the Eagles and Falcons tied at 6-1, and Caledonia would join them if it beats West Ottawa at home the same night.

Hudsonville. The Eagles are 6-2 and have won three straight since a 13-7 loss at Caledonia on Sept. 25. They beat West Ottawa 33-32 in overtime, routed Jenison 63-0 and held off Rockford 17-14 last Friday. Their other loss came in the opener, 41-20 at Byron Center. Hudsonville has scored 264 points and allowed 129 this season.

East Kentwood. The Falcons have scored at least 31 points in every game, 396 in all, while allowing 146. Their closest games were 21-point wins over Grandville, 56-35, and Rockford, 31-10. A 49-27 win at Caledonia on Oct. 9 put them alone in first, and last week they beat West Ottawa 63-31.

What’s next. The MHSAA playoffs begin the following week. Elsewhere in the OK Red on Friday, Jenison visits Rockford and Grand Haven plays at Grandville.
