Port Huron luminary hike: hundreds of lanterns light the trails at 16th St. Park for a free family walk Friday, Oct. 23
PORT HURON, Mich. — Hundreds of glowing luminaries will line the wooded trails at Port Huron’s 16th St. Park on Friday evening, Oct. 23, for a free family hike, according to Port Huron Parks & Recreation.
The Luminary Hike, held with Friends of the St. Clair River, runs from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the park, 2600 16th St. The city describes it as a peaceful, family-friendly walk through the autumn woods after sunset, with the lanterns lighting the way.
Who can come. The hike is free and open to families. Children are welcome but must attend with an adult, the city says.
How to sign up. The city asks hikers to register ahead of time, either online through Port Huron Recreation’s registration catalog or in person at the Palmer Park Recreation Center, 2829 Armour St. The listing’s sign-up deadline still carries last year’s date, so families who want to go should register early rather than wait.
