A glow maze in Frankenmuth, junior hockey downtown and a castle museum made a Saginaw County Saturday
SAGINAW, Mich. — A Saturday in Saginaw County on the weekend of Oct. 10-11 could begin inside a turreted former post office downtown and end either at a junior hockey game or in a glow-in-the-dark maze on a Frankenmuth farm.
Grandpa Tiny’s Farm, at 7775 Weiss St. in Frankenmuth, held Farm Fright Nights from 7 to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday, Oct. 9-10, and returns Oct. 16 and 17, according to the farm’s event listing, which shows six dates in all.
Tickets are sold by time slot. A Creepy Wagon Ride paired with the GLOW Maze costs $18, with wagons boarding every half hour from 7 to 9:30 p.m. The maze alone is $9 for as long as a visitor wants to stay that night. Children under 2 get into the maze free and can ride the wagon on a lap without a ticket. Pets are not allowed.
Two pricier options round out the night. An 8 or 9 p.m. paranormal investigation, $39 a person, goes out with a crew from Scientific Paranormal Investigations of Michigan after a stop to hear the farm’s own stories of strange happenings; it includes the maze but not the wagon ride. A 7:30 p.m. session making spooky jewelry with Wild Daisy Creative costs $38 and also includes the maze.
Back in Saginaw, the Saginaw Spirit of the Ontario Hockey League hosted the Kitchener Rangers at 7:05 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Dow Event Center, according to the team’s schedule. Tickets were sold through Ticketmaster.
Earlier in the day, the Castle Museum of Saginaw County History, at 500 Federal Ave., was open from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday and from 1 to 4:30 p.m. Sunday. Saginaw County residents get in free. Everyone else pays $3 a person or $5 a family, and visitors 65 and older pay $2, according to the museum.
Updated Oct. 13, 2026: Farm Fright Nights on Oct. 9-10, the Spirit’s Oct. 10 home date and that weekend’s Castle Museum hours are now past tense. This guide was published before them, and its schedule language has been changed to the past tense. Farm Fright Nights return Oct. 16-17.
Updated Oct. 13, 2026: The headline and summary were changed to the past tense for events that have already taken place.
