Things to do on the Thumb Coast Oct. 24: Caseville’s Witch Walk parade, a Port Sanilac ghost hunt and Port Austin’s last farmers market
CASEVILLE, Mich. — Three of the Thumb Coast’s fall events land on the same day, Saturday, Oct. 24. Caseville holds its sixth annual Witch Walk, with a costume parade, a runway show and an art market along the harbor, while a Detroit paranormal group leads ghost-hunting sessions inside a Port Sanilac mansion built in the 1870s, and Port Austin closes its farmers market for the year.
Here is what is on the calendar.
Witch Walk, Caseville, all day Saturday. The Caseville Area Chamber of Commerce and downtown merchants run the day, and the chamber’s schedule lists more than 30 events and shop specials. Memorial City Park is the hub: a mystical market with tarot readings runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., the chamber serves free cider and doughnuts from 11 a.m. to noon, DJ Dave LeMaster plays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., a cackling contest starts at 1 p.m. and a red-carpet witch fashion runway show begins at 3 p.m. at Main and Pine streets.
Elsewhere in town, the Witchcrafters Art Market fills the City Pavilion at the Harbor from noon to 6 p.m., and the Caseville Museum, 6733 Prospect St., hosts “Nightmare on Prospect” and photo stops from noon to 4 p.m. Food trucks line Pine Street and Michigan Avenue from 1 to 9 p.m. Shops along Main Street are running raffles, craft classes and seasonal sales, and Walt’s Restaurant has pumpkin pancakes on the menu from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. Some classes, including a beach glass session and potion-bottle crafts, need reservations, the chamber says.
The official Witch Walk Parade steps off at 6 p.m. from The Crawford, 6868 Michigan Ave., and winds down Main Street and around the marina loop. The Witch’s Ball follows from 6:30 to 9 p.m. on the Thumb Brewery patio, 6758 Pine St., and Los Gringos play live music in a tent at Dufty’s Blue Water Inn, 6584 Main St., from 8 p.m. to midnight, with a $5 cover. The chamber’s number is 989-856-3818.
Paranormal investigations, Port Sanilac, 7 to 9 p.m. or 9:30 to 11:30 p.m. Detroit Paranormal Expeditions takes small groups through the Loop-Harrison mansion and other buildings at the Sanilac County Historic Village & Museum, 228 S. Ridge St., after dark. Each session is capped at 12 people and uses spirit boxes, cameras and other equipment, according to the museum’s ticket listing, and the last 30 minutes are open for exploring the grounds. Tickets are $65, or $50 for Sanilac County Historical Society members, and are not refundable. Guests must be 16 or older, anyone under 18 needs a parent or guardian, and everyone must show a state ID and sign a waiver. The listing calls the night entertainment and says the museum can’t guarantee ghostly encounters, only “a night of history, exploration, and maybe a few goosebumps.”
Last Port Austin Farmers Market of 2026, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. The Greater Port Austin Area Chamber of Commerce bills the season’s final Saturday market as a Christmas market and a chance to “kick off Christmas.” It runs rain or shine.
