PORT AUSTIN, Mich. — Families chasing a Thumb Coast Halloween can bookend the next two Saturdays without leaving Huron County’s lakeshore towns.

The Greater Port Austin Area Chamber lists a Fairy Tale Trail for Saturday, Oct. 17, from 1 to 4 p.m. at the Port Austin History Center, 1424 Pointe Aux Barques Road. The chamber’s event page frames it as a daytime stop for kids and parents; contact the chamber at (989) 738-7600 or chamber@portaustinarea.com for weather updates.

Seven days later, Caseville turns Main Street into its sixth annual Witch Walk. The Caseville Area Chamber’s 2026 schedule puts the bulk of the day on Saturday, Oct. 24, with merchant specials, tarot and craft stations, a midday cider-and-donuts stop in Memorial City Park, and Nightmare on Prospect with photo ops at the Caseville Museum, 6733 Prospect Street, from noon to 4 p.m.

The chamber’s posted lineup keeps building into the evening. A red-carpet witchy fashion show is listed for 3 p.m. in the park, the official Witch Walk parade steps off at 6 p.m. from The Crawford at 6868 Michigan Avenue, and the Witch’s Ball follows on the Thumb Brewery patio from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Food trucks are listed on Pine Street and Michigan Avenue from 1 to 9 p.m.

Art for the Witch Walk art contest is due at Jades on the Bay by Oct. 18, according to the chamber’s downloadable schedule. FestivalNet and the chamber both describe the day as free to attend, with some crafts and readings carrying their own fees.

Port Austin’s Oct. 31 costume parade and village trick-or-treating remain on the chamber’s Halloween page for families who want a third date later in the month. Check each chamber site before you drive; October lake wind can scrub outdoor hours with little notice.
