Grand Haven sits on Division 1 playoff cut line with three weeks left
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — With three regular-season games left, Grand Haven is living on the Division 1 playoff cut line, the Grand Haven Tribune reported Oct. 6.
Sports writer Trevor McCue wrote that every Friday can reshape the picture now. Grand Haven is directly on the cut line, Fruitport has put itself in strong position in Division 4, and Spring Lake has ground to make up with little room for another loss.
The Tribune’s stretch-run analysis framed the Tri-Cities trio — Grand Haven, Spring Lake and Fruitport — as facing three different October tasks: survive the cut line, protect a strong seed, or climb fast.
MHSAA Selection Sunday is Oct. 25. Statewide, MHSAA.com’s Week 6 review showed league titles and playoff-point averages tightening everywhere — the same math now hanging over Harbor Country’s Friday nights.
