GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Grand Haven’s holiday season officially starts downtown on Friday, Nov. 20, when Grand Haven Main Street lights the district for Light Night, its yearly kickoff. Main Street businesses, shops and restaurants along Washington Avenue take part from 5 to 8 p.m., according to Visit Grand Haven’s events calendar.

The rest of the month fills in around it. Here is what is on the calendars so far.

Tote Club Days, Saturday, Nov. 7: Shoppers who bring any official Main Street tote bag from a past Light Night open house get perks at participating businesses in Downtown and Centertown, the city’s community calendar says. It is the last of the program’s four dates this year.

Holiday Craft & Artisan Market, Saturday, Nov. 14: 57 West Michigan artists, crafters, makers, bakers and vendors set up inside Central Park Place, 421 Columbus Ave., from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The listing promises handmade gifts and décor, coffee and baked goods.

Light Night, Friday, Nov. 20: The district lighting and open houses run 5 to 8 p.m. downtown. The phone number on the event listing is 616-844-1188.

Small Business Saturday, Nov. 28: Downtown shops offer holiday deals from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Organizers pitch it as a way to keep money in the Downtown and Centertown districts.

Still in October: The more than 150 decorated skeletons of Bones About Town stay up through Oct. 23, and the event ends with a Fall Festival on the streets of Downtown and Centertown on Saturday, Oct. 24, according to the city’s calendar.

Times and vendor lineups can change, so check the listings before you go.
