Traverse City Central at Bay City Central: Trojans look for their first road win before the crosstown game
TRAVERSE CITY, Mich. — Traverse City Central has won all three of its home games this fall and none of its road games. The Trojans try to change that Friday night at Bay City Central, a week before their crosstown game with Traverse City West.
Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, at Bay City Central High School, 1624 Columbus Ave., in a Saginaw Valley League North game, according to MaxPreps schedules for both schools.
Central (3-4, 1-3 league) beat Novi 55-22, Redford Thurston 28-14 and Midland 21-14 at home. It lost at Davison, 54-28; at Mount Pleasant, 35-20; and last Friday at Bay City Western, 27-21. Its other loss was 30-27 at home to Midland Dow on Sept. 25, MaxPreps shows.
Bay City Central (2-5, 1-4) has beaten Flint Kearsley 34-13 and Saginaw United 30-0, both at home. The Wolves lost 57-18 to Dow last week and have given up 253 points this season, according to MaxPreps.
Results against three shared league opponents favor the Trojans. Central beat Midland by 7, while the Wolves lost to the Chemics 28-7. Central lost to Mount Pleasant by 15 and to Dow by 3; Bay City Central lost those games by 41 and 39 points.
A win would even Central’s record at 4-4. The Trojans close the regular season against Traverse City West on Oct. 23, and Bay City Central finishes against Bay City Western, MaxPreps shows.
