Bark River-Harris rolls L’Anse 46-18, one win from WPAC Iron title share
UPPER PENINSULA — Bark River-Harris answered its only loss with a statement. The Broncos beat L’Anse 46-18 on Friday and moved within one win of clinching a share of a repeat Western Peninsula Athletic Conference Iron title, MHSAA.com reported.
Bark River-Harris is 5-1. MHSAA.com said the Broncos could clinch that share the next week against Hancock. L’Anse fell to 3-3 and sat just outside the Division 8 playoff-point cut line with tough remaining games.
WLUC TV6’s Friday Night Fever scoreboard listed the same 46-18 final among a full U.P. slate that also included Kingsford 35, Hancock 6 and Marquette 34, Alpena 21.
Marquette’s win improved the Redmen to 4-2 in Big North play as they chase a first league title, MHSAA.com noted — another October storyline for peninsula fans watching both WPAC and Big North races.
Updated Oct. 12, 2026: Bark River-Harris won 44-8 at Hancock on Oct. 9, MaxPreps results show, and is 6-1 and 3-0 in WPAC Iron play. MaxPreps lists the Hancock game as nonconference. The Broncos play Manistique on Oct. 16. Records above are as of the week of the game.
