Detroit Catholic Central stays unbeaten, tops Toledo Central Catholic 31-12
DETROIT, Mich. — Detroit Catholic Central kept its perfect season intact Saturday, beating Toledo Central Catholic 31-12 in Catholic High School League Central play, the Michigan High School Athletic Association reported in its Week 6 review.
The Shamrocks are 6-0. MHSAA.com said the win handed TCC (5-2) its first league defeat and may have narrowed the Central race to two serious contenders. Next up for Catholic Central was Orchard Lake St. Mary’s, the other Central team without a league loss.
Detroit Free Press rankings after Week 6 listed Detroit Cass Tech No. 1 in Division 1 at 6-0, with Novi Detroit Catholic Central close behind at No. 2, also 6-0. Detroit Martin Luther King sat atop the Free Press Division 3 ballot at 5-1.
MHSAA 11-player finals return to Ford Field on Friday and Saturday, Nov. 27-28. Selection Sunday is Oct. 25, with district semifinals scheduled for Oct. 30-31.
Updated Oct. 12, 2026: Catholic Central won 27-20 at Orchard Lake St. Mary’s on Oct. 9, MaxPreps results show, and is 7-0 and 4-0 in the CHSL Central. St. Mary’s is 5-2. The Shamrocks play Toledo St. Francis de Sales on Oct. 16. Records above are as of the week of the game.
