Lake Fenton outlasts Corunna 53-50 as Hodge, Zeeman rewrite record books
FLINT, Mich. — School records fell on both sidelines Friday as Lake Fenton edged Corunna 53-50 in a Flint-area shootout, according to MLive’s Week 6 roundup.
Lake Fenton quarterback Caiden Hodge threw for 267 yards and seven touchdowns and added 105 rushing yards and another score, MLive reported. His seven passing touchdowns tied for third in MHSAA history for a single game, and his eight total touchdowns ranked fourth all-time. The win was Lake Fenton’s first of the season.
Corunna leaned on Ruger Zeeman, who rushed for 444 yards and five touchdowns on 30 carries. MLive said Zeeman’s yardage ranks ninth all-time on the MHSAA single-game rushing list — a historic night in a one-possession loss.
Elsewhere in the Flint Metro League, Holly beat Flushing 30-29, a result MHSAA.com said knocked Flushing out of the Stripes title race. The area’s scoreboard was littered with one-score games as league races tightened with three weeks left.
