Things to do in Mount Pleasant for Halloween: a free trunk-or-treat Oct. 23 and the downtown Pumpkin Promenade Oct. 30
MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. — Mount Pleasant’s last two Fridays of October each bring a free, family-oriented Halloween event, according to listings from the Mt. Pleasant Area Convention & Visitors Bureau.
Trunk or Treat at Central Motorsports, Oct. 23. Central Motorsports, 905 Corporate Drive, holds its second annual trunk-or-treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 23. Admission is free, and organizers want both kids and adults to come in costume.
Anyone can sign up to be a “trunk” by decorating a vehicle and bringing candy. Organizers ask those cars to arrive between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m. so they are parked before the event starts at 5. Businesses doing a basic trunk can simply show up during setup. Vendors, sponsors and larger displays should contact the organizers first, according to the listing.
Pumpkin Promenade, Oct. 30. The City of Mt. Pleasant’s Parks and Recreation department brings back its annual Pumpkin Promenade downtown from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday, Oct. 30. Costumed children 12 and under can go business to business downtown for candy and take part in free outdoor activities for kids.
The Pumpkin Promenade is an outdoor event. Check the bureau’s listings before heading out in case weather changes either night’s plans.
