Midland Dow hosts Lapeer Friday riding a four-game win streak
MIDLAND, Mich. — Midland Dow brings a four-game winning streak into Friday’s home date with Lapeer, according to MaxPreps schedules for both teams.
Kickoff is set for 7 p.m. Oct. 16 at Dow High School, 3901 N. Saginaw Road. The Chargers are 5-2 overall and 4-1 in league play, which MaxPreps lists as second in their league. Friday’s game is a non-league matchup.
Dow’s streak started with a 28-14 win at Bay City Western on Sept. 18, then continued with a 30-27 road win at Traverse City Central, a 52-24 home win over Traverse City West and a 57-18 blowout at Bay City Central on Oct. 9. The Chargers’ losses came against Saginaw Heritage (32-30) and Mount Pleasant (28-7).
Lapeer arrives at 2-5 and on a three-game skid. The Lightning beat Saginaw United and Carman-Ainsworth earlier, then lost to Heritage, Grand Blanc and Midland Chemics. On Oct. 9 they fell 35-0 at Midland High.
Dow has outscored opponents 167-83 during the four-game run. Lapeer has scored 22 points and allowed 133 in its last three games, MaxPreps shows.
Both teams have one regular-season game left after Friday. Dow travels to Midland High on Oct. 23 for the crosstown finale. Lapeer hosts Davison the same night.
