Unbeaten Bedford shuts out Ann Arbor Huron 35-0, a week before Saline comes to Temperance
TEMPERANCE, Mich. — Bedford took a 6-0 record to Ann Arbor on Thursday, Oct. 8, for a Southeastern Conference Red game at Huron, its last stop before unbeaten Saline visits on Oct. 16.
The Kicking Mules are 4-0 in the league, second behind 5-0 Saline in the standings, according to MaxPreps. Bedford has outscored opponents 186-69. Its latest win was also its closest, 38-35 at Dexter on Oct. 2.
Huron is 1-5 overall and 1-3 in the conference, in sixth place. The River Rats have lost two straight, including a 61-0 defeat at Saline last Friday. Their only win came Sept. 18, 28-10 at Skyline.
Saline has been the class of the league so far. The Hornets have outscored opponents 307-31, with three conference wins by shutout. They hosted River Rouge in a nonleague game Friday, Oct. 9, before the trip to Temperance.
The two front-runners have played four common conference opponents. Bedford beat Pioneer 31-7, Monroe 24-7, Skyline 49-0 and Dexter 38-35. Saline beat Pioneer 48-13, Monroe 42-6, Skyline 59-0 and Dexter 58-0.
Bedford finishes the regular season Oct. 23 at Grand Ledge. Thursday’s game was listed for streaming on the NFHS Network.
Updated Oct. 12, 2026: Bedford shut out Huron 35-0, and Saline beat River Rouge 42-21 the next night, MaxPreps results show. Both teams are 7-0 going into their Oct. 16 game in Temperance. Huron is 1-6. Records above are as of the week of the games.
