Unbeaten Grand Ledge beats winless Everett 46-7, a week before DeWitt visits
GRAND LEDGE, Mich. — Grand Ledge, whose school district takes in part of Delta Township, took a 6-0 record to Lansing on Friday, Oct. 9, to play Everett, which was still looking for its first win.
The Comets were 4-0 and in first place in the Capital Area Activities Conference Blue, according to MaxPreps, and they have scored at least 35 points in every game, outscoring opponents 269-99. Last week they shut out Waverly 44-0.
Everett is 0-6 and 0-3 in the league. The Vikings have scored 103 points and allowed 291, including a 73-25 loss at DeWitt on Sept. 11 and a 71-18 loss at Lowell last Friday.
The game that could decide the division comes a week later. DeWitt, 5-1 and 3-0 in the league, plays at Grand Ledge on Oct. 16. The Panthers’ only loss was 30-17 at Mason on Sept. 3, and they have won four straight since, most recently 48-7 at East Lansing.
The two contenders have played two common league opponents so far. Grand Ledge won 49-25 at East Lansing, where DeWitt won 48-7, and both routed Waverly, Grand Ledge 44-0 and DeWitt 58-6. Grand Ledge also beat Holt 56-32; DeWitt hosted Holt the same night.
Grand Ledge closes the regular season at home against Bedford on Oct. 23.
Updated Oct. 12, 2026: Grand Ledge won 46-7 at Everett, and DeWitt shut out Holt 44-0, MaxPreps results show, so both teams are still unbeaten in CAAC Blue play going into their Oct. 16 game at Grand Ledge. The Comets are 7-0 and DeWitt is 6-1; Everett is 0-7. Records above are as of the week of the games.

Local businesses and groups hand out candy inside the mall on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 5 to 7 p.m. Kids need a participation card and their own bag.
