Waverly blanked 44-0 by undefeated Grand Ledge in CAAC crossover
DELTA TOWNSHIP, Mich. — Lansing Waverly had no answer for Grand Ledge on Friday. The Comets shut out the Warriors 44-0, according to the Lansing State Journal’s Greater Lansing Week 6 scoreboard and MaxPreps’ game recap.
Grand Ledge improved to 6-0. Waverly fell to 2-4. MaxPreps framed the result as another high-scoring night for the Comets as they piled up points against a Capital Area Athletic Conference foe.
The Lansing State Journal listed the final among a full slate of Greater Lansing results that also included Mason, Okemos, DeWitt and Portland winners. MHSAA Selection Sunday is Oct. 25, leaving Waverly three weeks to climb the Division playoff-point lists.
For Delta Township readers, Waverly remains the neighborhood Friday-night draw even after a tough road loss. The Warriors will need wins — and playoff points — in a hurry if they want the postseason conversation to last into late October.
