JACKSON, Mich. — Jackson Lumen Christi played its final regular-season home game Friday, Oct. 9, and on paper it was the Titans’ most lopsided matchup of the fall. Lumen Christi, 5-1, hosted Toledo St. Francis de Sales, which was 1-6.

The Titans had scored 36.5 points a game and allowed 18.7, according to season figures posted by Prep Redzone. St. Francis de Sales had averaged fewer than 12 points and given up about 33 a game, according to the results posted by the school and MaxPreps.

Lumen Christi is chasing a fifth straight state title, and it came into the year as the reigning Division 6 champion. It has spent much of the fall playing bigger schools on purpose. The one loss came Sept. 25, when Toledo Central Catholic, last season’s Division III runner-up in Ohio, won 49-7 at Lumen Christi.

The Titans answered with a 45-10 homecoming win over Detroit U of D Jesuit on Oct. 2 in a Catholic League divisional game, JTV Sports reported. A week before the Central Catholic loss, they beat Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard 40-10.

MLive has credited a rushing attack led by Ayden Gatewood and a passing game built on quarterback Benny Gaston’s connection with Wes Learned.

St. Francis de Sales had lost 46-19 to Birmingham Brother Rice the week before. On Sept. 25, the Knights held Warren De La Salle to 17 points but managed only a safety in a 17-2 home loss.

Updated Oct. 12, 2026: Lumen Christi won 43-28, MaxPreps results show, and is 6-1. It plays Detroit Country Day on Oct. 16 and Dearborn Divine Child on Oct. 23. St. Francis de Sales is 1-7. Correction: An earlier version of this story said St. Francis de Sales was winless at 0-7 and had averaged 7 points a game. The Knights beat Toledo Waite in their Aug. 21 opener, according to the school’s posted results and MaxPreps, and were 1-6 going into this game. The headline and summary have been corrected. Records above are as of the week of the game.

Updated Oct. 13, 2026: The headline and summary were changed to report the result of the game this story previewed.
