An Oktoberfest, a comedy night for veterans and a late band filled Grand Haven’s Saturday
GRAND HAVEN, Mich. — Grand Haven’s Saturday, Oct. 10, ran from a brewery birthday party on Washington Avenue to a comedy fundraiser for veterans near the harbor and a cover band that played past midnight.
Burzurk Brewing Co., 1442 Washington Ave., marked its sixth anniversary with an Oktoberfest-style party from 2 to 10 p.m., according to the Visit Grand Haven calendar. The brewery planned to pour classic German beers alongside its own, with Nate Dill on the patio from 3 to 6 p.m. and Yours Truly & the Funk from 7 to 10 p.m. Outlaw Roasted Corn was selling roasted corn and potatoes all day.
At 7 p.m., American Legion Post 28, 700 S. Harbor Drive, hosted comedian and parody artist Mike Bova for a 90-minute show that raised money for local veterans. The show was open to the public and rated for mature audiences, and tickets bought through Eventbrite were not refundable, according to the listing.
Later, the Kirby House’s fall music series put Pop 2K on stage from 9 p.m. to 12:30 a.m. The series continues on Friday and Saturday nights through Halloween, when Trilogy closes out October.
The Legion show was a one-night event. Burzurk can be reached at (616) 414-7775.
