Things to do near Marysville and St. Clair Oct. 21–25: Scarysville’s haunted walk, a Mad Hatters party at War Water and two trunk-or-treats
MARYSVILLE, Mich. — The river towns south of Port Huron fill the week before Halloween weekend with costume events for every age, from a trick-or-treat for toddlers in downtown St. Clair to a haunted trail in Marysville Park and an adult costume party at War Water Brewery.
Wednesday, Oct. 21: Halloween for Tots, St. Clair. The St. Clair Recreation Department hosts trick-or-treating for little ones in the plaza downtown, according to the St. Clair Chamber of Commerce events calendar. The calendar doesn’t list a time, so check with the department before heading out.
Thursday, Oct. 22: LaFontaine’s Trunk or Treat, St. Clair. LaFontaine Chevrolet Buick GMC hosts a free trunk-or-treat from 5 to 7 p.m. Visitors are invited to come in costume and go trunk to trunk for treats, the chamber says.
Saturday, Oct. 24: Scarysville, Marysville. The Marysville Recreation Department’s haunted walk takes visitors down a trail at Marysville Park, 801 Huron Blvd., past scary characters and “creepy surprises,” followed by live music, food trucks and a beverage tent, according to the department’s event post. The Blue Water Area Convention & Visitors Bureau lists the event as Scaryville’s Haunted Walk & Live Music from 6:30 to 10:30 p.m., while the department’s post lists 6 to 9 p.m., so call the recreation office at (810) 455-1302 to confirm times.
Saturday, Oct. 24: A Mad Hatters Halloween Party, St. Clair. The St. Clair Chamber of Commerce bills its costume party at War Water Brewery, 201 N. Riverside Ave., as the city’s largest adult Halloween party. It runs from 8 p.m. to midnight, and tickets on Eventbrite start at $60.
Saturday, Oct. 24: Haunted Gingerbread House Decorating Night, Marine City. RiverSide Gypsy runs a class at The Mariner, 430 S. Water St., from 6 to 9 p.m., where guests build and decorate an edible haunted gingerbread house from scratch. Tickets are $45, and only 10 houses are available.
Sunday, Oct. 25: Trunk or Treat, Marysville. Marysville United Methodist Church, 721 W. Huron Blvd., hosts a trunk-or-treat starting at 3 p.m. with cider, doughnuts and candy, and all are welcome, the church says.
Also this weekend. Port Huron has its own lineup, from a Carnegie ghost hunt to trolley tours; see things to do in Port Huron Oct. 23–25. President Donald Trump holds a rally at McMorran Place in Port Huron on Sunday, Oct. 25; here’s what we know.
